SDPY – Happy Birthday Groovy

Groovy 1.0 is one year old. Version 1.5 has been released since and while Sun has been more focused on JRuby, Groovy and Grails are fairly well supported in both NetBeans and GlassFish.

  1. Right! A year since Groovy 1.0 already! It’s been a long road, but we’ve managed to get two important milestones in 2007 out of the doors and we’ve created G2One (http://www.g2one.com), the Groovy and Grails company. So it was a great year.
I’m very happy to see that Grails works well in GlassFish and that there’s a nice initiative of talented engineers inside Sun working on Groovy and Grails support in NetBeans. That’s really going to be a nice new year, and hopefully it will stop people claiming that Sun doesn’t care about Groovy or Grails!
