cannot find symbol netbeans

Looking at my referers list, I regularly see people looking for “cannot find symbol netbeans”. This is most likely a variable used without being declared. Since for newcomers to Java or NetBeans this error message may not be obvious, I believe upcoming features will hint the user (rather than changing this well known message).
