If you’re reading this via some RSS reader (rich or web based), you
have a blogroll. My blogroll has grown to some 180 feeds and I never
dropped any (well almost). Probably more than half of my feeds haven’t
had updates in more than three months but my reader is still fetching
them on a regular basis.
Maybe this is not reasonable, but
consider each RSS feed is 25k. That’s 4.5MB pulled every 30 minutes
or every hour. I’m pretty sure there’s a huge waste of bandwidth (even
with proxy and caching technologies).
Just curious, how often do you delete people from your blogroll?
When they blog too much ;)
“too much” is more than 4 times a day with lots of text!
